OKRoads -- Florida Trip -- Interstate 85 South Carolina (Page One)

Interstate 85 is a busy interstate that sees lots of truck traffic as it goes from Montgomery, Alabama, to Portsmouth, Virginia. The highway goes through the cities of Montgomery, Atlanta, Greenville, Spartanburg, Charlotte, Greensboro, and Portsmouth. On Day Seven of the Florida Trip, I drove Interstate 85 from Interstate 75 in north Atlanta to Charlotte, North Carolina, and on Day Nine, I drove Interstate 85 from Charlotte to Interstate 285 in northeast Atlanta.

	Interstate 85 North at Exit 1 - SC 11 - Walhalla/ South Carolina Welcome Center/Rest Area. The "Welcome" sign is just past this sign.
	Interstate 85 North at Exit 2 - SC 59 - Fair Play/Seneca. This stretch of roadway is a typical part of rural Interstate 85 in the Palmetto State - narrow and not much room to grow without major construction. But the traffic view is not typical - normally, there are more semis than this!
	Interstate 85 North at Exit 4 - SC 243/Road 23 - Fair Play. The speed limit on Interstate 85 in South Carolina is 65 for most of the way. It is 60 near Greenville and 70 on the Spartanburg bypass.

	From there, a c/d lane facilitates traffic movements between the interstate and the three roads. Each exit is given its own letter. For example, this is Exit 46A for Augusta Road.
